3 How do I prepare Yerba Mate?
You can prepare Yerba Mate in two ways:
- Traditional Method (Cuia + Bombilla): Fill the gourd ¾ with mate, tilt, add warm water (not boiling), and drink through the metal straw.
- Modern Method: Use a French press, teapot, or tea filter. Steep for 3–5 minutes in hot water (70–80°C).
Never use boiling water — it makes the flavor bitter.
4 Does Yerba Mate have caffeine?
